The primary purpose of the School of Business and Professional Studies is to provide a liberal arts education in the areas of Business and Technology that will prepare students for the world of work upon graduation or to continue their studies in graduate or professional school. Students who pursue majors in the school acquire an in-depth knowledge of their discipline and are also required to successfully complete a series of courses designed to develop and strengthen their analytical, cognitive, oral and writing skills, as well as an awareness of and commitment to values. The School offers the following majors:
Business Administration with a Concentration in:
Accounting
Management
Computer Science
Computer Information Systems
Cyber Operations (Starting Spring 2024)
Recreation Management
NOTE: Students majoring in Business and Professional Studies are required to successfully complete the general education core and departmental requirements as well as applicable major and concentration requirements.
The school also offers minors in Accounting, Business Management, Computer Science, Computer Information Sciences and Recreation Management.
The Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center (IEC) helps students and non-students to launch their businesses thanks to a partnership with the Carolina Small Business Development Fund. The Center provides resources for students, as well as an opportunity to connect with fellow entrepreneurs.
