ENG 214 American Literature PRE-1865 (3)

This course covers a variety of works in prose, poetry and drama, and literary movements in American literature from its beginnings to 1865 with an emphasis on the historical, cultural and social context of the works through analysis and research. Students should be able to critically analyze and interpret literary works within their contexts.
