African American Studies Minor

The minor in African American Studies provides students with a deeper understanding of the African American experience. The courses offered are in History, Philosophy, Music, Political Studies, Religion, Media, and Literature, and they stress analysis, diversity, critical thinking, and written skills through a rigorous curriculum that explores the African American experience.
The minor in African American Studies will require students to earn 18 credits in classes at the level of 200 or higher with at least 6 of the 18 credits at the level of 300 or higher. A grade of at least a C must be earned in each course.
