The minor in English program stresses literary analysis, diversity, critical thinking, and written (academic, technical, and creative) skills through a rigorous curriculum of literature, composition, language, and critical analysis.
The minor requires 18 credit hours of 200 level coursework or above, of which 9 credits must be at the 300 level or above. The student must make a C or better in all English minor courses.
If ENG 113 was completed before the number was changed to ENG 213, it counts toward the minor as the material being taught was the same before the number change.
Also, Honors students who complete ENG 265 will only have to complete 15 credit hours to earn the minor because ENG 265 combines ENG 211 and ENG 213, though it is only three credits. Students are still required to complete at least 9 credits at the 300-level or above. ENG 265 will count as a 200-level course.
