The Elementary Education Major is for students who wish to pursue a degree in teacher education at the elementary level. Students must earn a grade of “C” or better in all professional area courses; as well as the core English and Math Courses ENG 110, ENG 111, ENG 112, and MAT 120, MAT 121. The curriculum provides an understanding of child development, intellectual development, and issues related to elementary education. Students develop skills needed to instruct children in kindergarten through grade six.

Credits required depend on initial course placement.
Students may be placed in a higher level Mathematics course based on prior coursework, and any higher level Mathematics course will satisfy the requirement. The Adaptive Physical Education: Kinesiotherapy major requires MAT 113 in place of MAT 112 . Computer Science requires MAT 113.
